I meant to put up the pattern I developed for these...so it's somewhere other than on an index card on my messy desk..lol
lemme see if I can do this
Using size H hook, crochet in spiral (no joins)
I used Bernat Satin yarn and it's made to fit a size 10 1/2 to 11 female foot. You may want to use a marker for beginning of each round (I personally mark the end of each round-to each his own.)
Magic Ring
Crochet 6 st into magic ring (6)
Round 1 inc every stitch (12)
R2- 1 sc, 1 inc- around (18)
R3- 2 sc, 1 inc- around (24)
R4- 3 sc, 1 inc- around (30)
R5- 4 sc, 1 inc- around (36)
sc every stitch around for 10 rows (or until fits over toes)
hdc every stitch around for 10 rows
now find the top of the slipper and use two markers to mark 8 (or 9) stitches apart(this will be the separation for the ankle)
crochet in rows (heel)
finish hdc to first marker ch 1 and turn
sc 26 st, ch 1 turn till end of heel
(I decreased the last 5 rows by 1 sc2tog  in the middle of the heel)
sc 11, sc2tog, sc12(ya, I lost a stitch somewhere in my rows-if you didn't this would end at 25st)(24)
sc around (24)
sc 11, sc2tog, sc11 (23)
sc around(23)
sc 10, sc2tog, sc11 (22)
line up ends and sl st together (I did the right sides together so the seam is on the inside of the slipper)FO
crochet in rows with joins
reattach yarn at heel sc around opening (I got 51 st) sl st to join

ch 3, dc around, join
ch 1, sc around, join
ch 3, dc into sl st hole, ch 1, dc into 2nd st over, ch 1 around (ummm..so instead of dc in each st, you'd chain at the top of the dc and skip a st, dc into the next st, chain 1 around...I'm not a pattern writer..sorry)join
ch 3, 2 dc around each chain from prev row, join
ch1 sl st around, FO weave ends...

phew...I may never be able to make these again...lol..ttfn

Well...it's been a while

So, I haven't posted in a while.  I've been pretty busy though.  Here are a few things I've done over the past few months.
I started crocheting, I found a few patterns on Etsy that I was willing to pay for these are from seller: deliciouscrochet, my mom was the recipient of the giraffe, my dad got the bunny...
One of the women I work with has started making bows and asked if I could make her some animal shaped buttons to go in the center...I had a blast making these...then they burned :(, so I made new ones...each is an original. :)
The top frog burnt in the oven, so I remade him, as well as the pinknpurple kitten...
With the cold weather arriving, I have gotten into the mood to crochet some booties among other wardrobe, I've went through a few patterns and decided it was basic enough to make my own...so I did and made mom a pair of toe warmers. :D
 more buttons

This is actually the first Amigurumi I made...the piggie from Angry Birds..pattern by Nerdigurumi

Made my own pattern to replace my antennae ball, thought the piggie was cute so remade him..hehe
There's a lot more I've done but I hate posting pics on blogger, it always fights me-puts my pics in whatever order it wants and then won't move them around where I tell it to...so this is it for now!  Have a great day! Christy

Pinterest Fun

I've had a Pinterest account for probably a year or more, but I wasn't sure what the hype was about, or how to use the site...well, In the process of reading Facebook my friends would pin something to their Pinterest and I'd check it out, but I didn't have the inclination to start "pinning" to "boards" on my own page...what was a pin, and a board anyway...and with all the freaked out so called artists on the web hooping and hollering about copywrite, and people "stealing" their pictures I wasn't really sure I wanted to get involved. (hover around the online craft world long enough and you'll see a ton of "this is mine!" funny how an idea can be had by several people over a short period of time and all claim it as their "original idea" anyway...) . Night before last I decided what the hey, might as well see what this is all about and in the process I may have torn off more than I can chew-I might be addicted...lol. So, to shorten this long story, I found a pin for a really cute Macrame bracelet with a metal bead spacer, it had a tutorial attached...now I fooled around with Macrame about 2 years ago, so had some cord, took the tutorial and a bead I had and made a cute bracelet, but then I thought, why stop there, I need to see if I can make a ring...so I did. Now, I'm a plus size girl with plus size hands...but I still think it's cute, maybe more so because it's not to delicate on my big finger.

Hi!!

Well, I never get very many visitors to my blog, so thought I'd delete everything and start fresh. I currently work for a veterinary hospital as a doctor's assistant and do some technician duties such as radiographs, catheters, blood draws, lab work, etc. When I'm not at work, I'm usually at home sitting at my desk either creating something or browsing the web to see what others are creating. I enjoy many different hobbies, some I do better than others. I love crafting jewelry, making books and boxes, and occasionally I like to sculpt.
I grew up in a Christian household of 5. My mom and dad have been together for more than 40 years, and I'm a middle child and only girl.
